How to Turn Still Images Into an AI Video
Image-to-video tools animate a source frame by predicting motion for the subject, camera, and environment. The source image establishes identity and composition; the prompt should direct how that approved moment changes.
Prepare a motion-ready image
Use a clear subject, intentional framing, coherent anatomy, separation from the background, and enough space for the planned movement. Repair visual errors before animation magnifies them.
Direct restrained motion first
Describe one subject action, one camera behavior, and relevant environmental movement. Subtle, motivated motion is usually easier to preserve than several simultaneous transformations.
Protect identity and composition
State what must remain stable and use character references or ingredients when supported. Start from a previous shot’s final frame when the workflow allows it, but expect to bridge small mismatches in the edit.
Build sequences, not isolated clips
Generate complementary wide, medium, close, reaction, and insert shots. Consistent sound and purposeful cuts can connect separately animated images into a coherent scene.
