What Is an AI Movie Marketplace?
An AI film marketplace connects independent filmmakers with viewers who want to watch their finished work. A useful platform combines film discovery, creator attribution, clear viewing availability, and licensed transactions. Cinema Marketplace currently offers official-source discovery and free submissions; paid rentals remain in development.
Two audiences, one film record
Viewers need to know what the film is about, how long it runs, who made it, what kind of experience it offers, and where they can watch. Filmmakers need a reliable place to present the finished work, receive attribution, explain their AI workflow, and define the viewing permissions they are prepared to grant.
The film profile connects those needs. Genre and runtime collections help a viewer choose; a creator profile makes the filmmaker's other work discoverable. An original synopsis and specific production notes provide context beyond a video thumbnail. The marketplace should help the work reach an audience while keeping its authorship visible.
What Cinema Marketplace offers today
The Watch AI Movies hub organizes documented films by creator, genre, runtime, and viewing source. Playable profiles use permitted official public players; other entries link to an official source. These releases are free to view through their current sources. A catalog entry does not mean the film is rental inventory.
Creators can submit a completed film using an official video link or private screener. The current form prepares a review email, rather than uploading video files. Editorial review and a standard accepted profile are free. Cinema Marketplace does not offer custom avatar, trailer, or movie production services.
What a licensed rental should explain
A rental is a defined viewing entitlement to a specific film, rather than ownership of the movie. Before payment, the viewer should be able to see the full price, permitted territory, when the viewing window begins, how long access lasts, supported playback, accessibility information, refund terms, and where to get help.
Do not assume a universal rental window. Any start period, watch period, device limit, or replay rule must match the actual offer and the creator's agreement. The current marketplace preview uses sample prices and a demonstration window; those numbers are interface examples, not available rentals.
Why official embeds cannot simply become rentals
Permission to display an official public player supports the free viewing experience the source permits. It does not establish a separate right to charge for access, download the file, remove the creator's attribution, or promise an exclusive viewing window.
The rights holder must separately authorize commercial distribution. A rental platform also needs working playback entitlement, checkout, transaction records, refunds, support, and creator accounting. On Cinema Marketplace, paid access is not active and current catalog films are not charged for.
The filmmaker's route into the marketplace
Begin with a finished film and a coherent release package: credits, AI-use statement, official source, exact metadata, synopsis, artwork, captions, and relevant permission records. The AI Film Submission Checklist provides a working preparation route.
Submit the film for discovery first, or claim an existing profile if it is already documented. Use the optional rental-interest selection to explain your commercial goals. Founding Filmmakers offers a separate application for creators who want to contribute release needs and be considered for future pilots. Neither pathway guarantees paid distribution.
Creator control and clear economics
Any future agreement should identify who controls the film and which uses are permitted. Price approval, territory, duration, exclusivity, availability, promotional assets, withdrawal, and post-termination handling should be addressed before a title becomes paid inventory.
The creator must also understand the platform share, permitted fees, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, reporting, payment schedule, and dispute process. Cinema Marketplace has not published final rental economics or a launch date.
