documented films
Each has a permanent profile, credited creator, runtime, genre, and official source.
Catalog report · October 11, 2026
This is a measured look at what the current collection contains—not a claim about every AI film in the world. The snapshot separates catalog evidence from editorial interpretation and keeps official viewing access distinct from ownership or distribution rights.
Each has a permanent profile, credited creator, runtime, genre, and official source.
These stream through an official embedded player without being downloaded or rehosted.
Profiles connect a filmmaker’s documented work to viewing and discovery routes.
The collection represents about 1022 minutes of documented work in total.
How to read this report
Cinema Marketplace includes films when a creator, studio, distributor, festival, or other official source provides enough information to build a trustworthy profile. That makes the catalog useful for watching and studying documented work, but it also creates a boundary: private films, unavailable releases, works with unclear attribution, and titles without sufficient AI-production evidence are not represented.
The five Future Vision XPRIZE finalists are presented separately because their public videos are trailers for proposed feature films, not completed features. They do not increase the 119-film catalog or the 100-film playable count.
Finding one
The median catalog runtime is 7:00. That matters because a short film is not merely a reduced feature: it is the form in which creators can test character continuity, generated environments, visual language, editing rhythm, sound, and audience response within a finishable production.
The runtime groups above are mutually exclusive for this report. The dedicated five-to-ten and ten-to-thirty viewing guides both intentionally include exactly ten-minute boundary titles because viewers can reasonably expect to find them through either route.
Finding two
AI cinema is often associated with synthetic consciousness, altered realities, distant worlds, and new technologies. The catalog supports that connection: Science Fiction is currently the largest single genre with 43 films. Yet the collection also contains drama, fantasy, animation, experimental work, horror, action, crime, surreal film, and historical fantasy.

Find films →Genre labels are discovery aids, not rigid production categories. A character drama may use a science-fiction premise; animation may be generative, hybrid, or assisted. Permanent film profiles remain the canonical source for each title’s actual description and documented production context.
Finding three
100 of 119 films (84%) currently play through official embedded releases. The remaining profiles continue to an official creator, distributor, or festival source. “Playable here” means the authorized source player can be viewed on the profile; it does not mean Cinema Marketplace hosts, owns, sells, or has licensed the underlying film.
This distinction is central to the marketplace’s present position. The marketplace demonstration explains a possible future rental and purchase flow without charging for unlicensed films. Editorial discovery and commercial eligibility remain separate decisions.
Finding four
The catalog spans 107 credited creators or teams. A film profile gives a title a stable record; a creator profile makes it possible to follow a body of work, see genre signals, and distinguish a repeat filmmaker from a one-off upload. That structure also gives creators a clear correction and profile-claiming path without implying ownership, distribution rights, or marketplace acceptance.
The editorial AI Filmmakers to Watch in 2026 guide goes deeper into selected creators already documented on the Site. The complete creator directory remains the neutral discovery index.
Finding five
The collection deliberately distinguishes AI-generated and AI-assisted work. Some films use generative tools across most visible shots. Others combine live actors, conventional editing, visual effects, synthetic environments, generated inserts, voice tools, or AI-supported post-production. When a public source does not support a more precise claim, the profile should say so.
That approach avoids two errors: erasing the human work behind a production, and labeling ordinary filmmaking as generative because AI appears in the story. The AI disclosure policy explains the editorial labels, while the credits builder helps filmmakers record human roles, tool uses, music, voices, and likeness permissions in one block.
Recent catalog activity
The latest documented uploads in this snapshot show how quickly the public collection can change. Dates below come from the official release metadata stored with each film profile; they are not festival-premiere dates unless the source explicitly identifies them that way.
Release-year view
Release year alone cannot measure technical progress. A newer model does not automatically produce a better film, and an older film may remain more coherent, emotionally precise, or formally inventive. The durable comparison is the finished work: story, direction, performances, sound, editing, disclosure, and the choices that connect them.
What comes next
The catalog suggests that public discovery, creator attribution, consistent credits, official viewing access, rights documentation, and durable release pages are becoming part of the filmmaking problem. Better generation can create more footage; it does not automatically create a coherent film, a cleared release package, or an audience path.
For viewers, the next step is simple: open the Watch hub, use the Watch Planner, or start with the six recent releases above. For filmmakers, the practical path runs through the production library, release-package checklist, rights review, and editorial submission flow.
This report will age as the catalog changes. Live directory and guide counts are calculated from the current data; this editorial snapshot remains dated so later readers can understand what was measured.
