How to Edit an AI-Generated Movie
The edit is where generated clips become a movie. Selection, order, duration, sound, and point of view create coherence that no individual clip can supply alone.
Build a story cut first
Use the clearest available shot for each beat, even if it is not the prettiest. Watch without music to test whether actions, geography, and emotional changes are understandable.
Cut around generation artifacts
Trim before motion breaks, use reaction shots and inserts to bridge discontinuities, and avoid holding on detail the model cannot sustain. A motivated cut feels intentional.
Let sound create continuity
Continuous ambience, off-screen dialogue, sound bridges, and carefully placed effects can connect images made in separate generations. Mix voices for clarity before adding music.
Finish for real viewers
Test on a phone and a large screen, add captions and credits, check levels and spelling, then export a master plus platform-specific versions. Keep the project and source records archived.
